Practical Considerations for Workplace Leadership
What does good leadership look like? This is a very difficult question to answer. And most people believe they have the answer. The reality is that it is far easier to describe what poor leadership looks like, because it is subjective and universal.
Rather than dig into every example of poor leadership behavior, the book addresses four prominent leadership themes: workplace culture, communication, leader performance, and conflict. But there’s a twist! The author uses a story, a modern fable, if you will, to illustrate each theme, then provides the thematic context, and then provides questions to help each reader make meaning of the context in their own workplace, in their own leadership journey. The reader is invited into a world of imagination AND critical thinking.
Rather than receive a set of steps to follow, the reader is presented with considerations where they get to analyze their own workplace situations and apply the concepts which they find most suitable, in their own way.
In essence, the purpose of this book is not to teach but to encourage learning and development.
